![]() ![]() The game will give you a cold weather warning if it predicts the lowest temperature for the day will go below that temperature range, even if it's only by like half a degree for a few minutes in the middle of the night. If you select a colonist and click their equipment tab it will show you near the top their temperature ranges. 3 Posted by 6 years ago Parka trouble I got a message that not all of my colonist had warm clothing so I started crafting parkas. Parkas can also be purchased from traders, crafted, or stripped from Outlanders, Pirates, or Tribals - this being the only garment that can be found worn by all existing human factions. ![]() Quality of clothing has a major impact on how much insulation it provides, so a very low quality muffalo parka might add less cold insulation than a very high quality cloth one (I don't know the min and max temperatures of each material off hand). A parka requires 80 of any textile, and 8,000 ticks (2.22 mins) of work. And you get much, much, much more protection from an actual marine armor. Preferably made from Devilstrand or Hyperweave. But they are 'not good enough' You get less encumbrance, equivalent protection, and much better temperature tolerance from a good Duster. The best fabric to use for your Dusters is camel hair, which is harvested from. (Banned) 11:18pm Flak jackets are not complete trash. My guess is it wont give you a warning while a colonist is drafted because you often might tell a drafted colonist to equip some armor or something that would reduce temperature tolerance, and since you are in control of the colonist the game assumes you know what you are doing. Parkas are the best torso gear for the cold, but Dusters are better for the heat. He isn't complaining, the game is just giving you a soft warning, on very cold maps it's hard to get rid of that warning so I tend to just ignore it. Is this guy destined to be an organ donor? :) He must have a lower temp threshold, but why is he complaining indoors and not when sent into the true cold? No other, of the 5 colonists, complain even though they are wearing less warm clothing. We have no more muffalo wool, so the best pants he's going to get is the bearskin. He also doesn't complain about the clothes if I place him (drafted) in the food freezer (which is outside temparature) or if he walks in for a meal. But when he is indoors he's complaining about warm clothes. He is wearing muffalo tuque, t-shirt, parka and bearksin pants.īut when he goes outside - not very often as he is doctor, researcher, I draft him and order him to stand outisde for couple of minutes, the "Need Warm Clothes" message disappears. One colonist is complaining about needing warm clothes. Indoors all bedrooms, rec room, dining room, workshops, corridors are 17C-21C. ![]() Playing on an ice sheet where it is damn cold - sometimes -50C. ![]()
